POST 5: CHANGES TO MY STUDY PROGRAMME

 


I am studying musical performance with a mention in classical guitar at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Chile. It is a long career, lasting 9 years in total, 5 basic years and 4 advanced years. The courses we have are consistent with what we are studying, such as history of music, history of art, chamber music, harmony, music theory, chamber music, musical project. The place where it is located is hostile and the infrastructure is precarious, the elevators usually have faults, there is no casino, the rooms have leaks, the electrical system is obsolete but despite all that there are very good teachers.

What would I change in the program?

I would like there to be more interdisciplinary courses among the courses that we are in at the faculty, such as linking sound with interpretation, creating projects together, recording, teaching us what microphones to use for each instrument, that we had training in knowing acoustics and room resonance. . I also spent time with composers, playing their musical pieces.

On the other hand, I would also like the instrument teachers to take some pedagogy course since the majority only received a hyper-specialization of their instrument and do not have the tools to transmit their knowledge.

post 3 :My Cellphone, My Indispensable Tool

Although I'm not a huge fan of technology, I must admit that my cellphone has become my favorite tool. It allows me to stay connected with my family and friends, make calls, send messages, and check emails anytime and anywhere. I primarily use it for communication, but also to organize my daily life with calendar apps and reminders. Moreover, it helps me stay informed about important news and events. This device has had a significant impact on my life, making communication and organization of my activities easier. While I don't like relying too much on technology, I acknowledge that my cellphone has provided me with convenience and efficiency. I would recommend using a cellphone, but always with moderation and responsibility. It's important to find a balance between digital life and real life, and not let technology dominate our personal interactions and experiences.

Post 2: Why did I choose my major?

 When I was a child I really liked music, so much so that when I committed it to my parents they decided to enroll me in an artistic school. the quinta normal artistic experimental high school, in that place I learned the basics of guitar and enough to take the admission test at the arts faculty of the university of chile, where i am currently studying. My experience at the university has been quite pleasant, despite the bad infrastructure, the fact that there is no casino, that the elevators stop working from time to time, I have acquired a lot of knowledge and I have made good friends.
