POST 5: CHANGES TO MY STUDY PROGRAMME

Imagen
I am studying musical performance with a mention in classical guitar at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Chile. It is a long career, lasting 9 years in total, 5 basic years and 4 advanced years. The courses we have are consistent with what we are studying, such as history of music, history of art, chamber music, harmony, music theory, chamber music, musical project. The place where it is located is hostile and the infrastructure is precarious, the elevators usually have faults, there is no casino, the rooms have leaks, the electrical system is obsolete but despite all that there are very good teachers. What would I change in the program? I would like there to be more interdisciplinary courses among the courses that we are in at the faculty, such as linking sound with interpretation, creating projects together, recording, teaching us what microphones to use for each instrument, that we had training in knowing acoustics and room resonance. . I also spent time with composers, pl

TIME TRAVEL TO THE PAST OR FUTURE

Imagen
Both the future and the past are places where I would like to travel. First I would travel to the past, I would choose the past, before the arrival of the Spanish to learn about the culture and worldview of the Mapuches and other ethnic groups that inhabited Chile, understand their social relationships, their language, the relationship they had with nature, the stars, learn about the myths and legends that existed in Chile before the arrival of Columbus's caravels with their religion imposed with death and slavery, before Christian morality, before the "guilt system." I would like to understand your philosophy and way of understanding the world.   On the other hand, I would like to go to the future to answer questions like will cars fly? Will there be dog translators? Will reggaeton still exist? What fashions will exist?   What is happening with global warming?   Perhaps in 3023 the world will be like in the book "1984" and Orwell was right, perhaps

MY DREAM JOB

Imagen
First of all, in my dreams I don't work hahaha but if I had to talk about a job that I would like to do it would surely be being a guitar teacher in some “popular school” or some cultural center. Teach to read music, write, make adaptations and develop skills so that they can play the repertoire that they like the most. I would also like to take a course in musical adaptations to make adaptations of folkloric music in order to contribute to the preservation of memory, reversing songs by Víctor Jara, Violeta Parra for example. But I'm still willing to change and I know that the twists and turns of life bring many surprises. I may not be clear about the job of my dreams, but I am clear about the type of job I would not like, I would not like to work in an office, nor would I like to be exploited by a boss who does not value my work. In conclusion, my dream job will be anything that is in line with my values and my thoughts.

my best holidays

Imagen
My best vacation was last summer, which was a trip with many destinations. First, I met up with some friends in Temuco to go to "La Fiesta de la Luna," a party that takes place in Cucao, specifically at Lake Huelde. The party was like a ritual, where a main fire was lit, there was live music, Cuecas were sung, we juggled with fire. It was an unforgettable experience. After that stop, we traveled north passing through Castro, Frutillar, Puerto Varas, Valdivia... many places. We traveled while juggling and sleeping in tents, we went to Ska, Cumbia, and folk music concerts. We visited rivers, beaches, hills, very beautiful places. In conclusion, there were many experiences, and that's why they were my best vacations.

APLACE I WOULD LIKE TO VISIT

Imagen
Hello, the place I would like to visit is Tarapacá during the dates of the Fiesta de La Tirana. I am interested in the carnival that takes place in a town that is usually quiet throughout the year but comes alive during that time, filled with music, tarkeadas, tinkus, and more. Why would I like to go to the carnival? To experience the culture firsthand, to see the folklore that is unique to the region with my own eyes. Additionally, I have several friends who live relatively close by and could provide me with accommodation. Another reason would be to witness the starry night sky. I understand that in the north, the stars and constellations are visible with great clarity. I wouldn't want to work, study, or live there since the town is usually quiet, haha. I would go solely to explore and get to know the place.

Post 5 An Expert / Person thta I admire in my field

Imagen
Víctor Jara is an iconic figure in Chilean music and culture. He is known for his social and political commitment, and for his music that reflects the struggle for justice and equality. Personally, I admire Víctor Jara for his bravery and dedication to the cause of human rights. Víctor Jara was a Chilean singer-songwriter, poet, and political activist who was born in 1932 and died in 1973. During his life, he made significant contributions to Chilean music and culture, and became a symbol of resistance against the military dictatorship that ruled Chile from 1973 to 1990. Víctor Jara was arrested and tortured by Chilean military forces in September 1973, and was killed shortly thereafter. His death became a symbol of the brutality of the military regime and of the struggle for justice and freedom. I like Víctor Jara because his music is an expression of the struggle for justice and equality. His songs speak to the lives of ordinary people and the struggles they face in their day-to-day

The symbol of Uroboros, which depicts a serpent or dragon eating its own tail, has various interpretations across different cultures and belief systems. To me, it represents the cyclical nature of life and the concept of infinity, as the serpent is constantly renewing itself by consuming its own tail. It also symbolizes the unity of opposites, such as creation and destruction, and the interconnectedness of all things. The symbol of Uroboros interests me because it is a visual representation of philosophical concepts. It has been used in various contexts throughout history, from ancient Egyptian and Greek mythology to alchemy and modern psychology. Its enduring popularity and versatility demonstrate its universal appeal and relevance.
